Upgrading

Automatic upgrade

BlissRADIUS Embedded automatically downloads and installs available upgrades that fix bugs. Procedure is seamless and process is restarted within few seconds.

Only upgrades that have no breaking changes will be installed automatically. Major upgrades can be installed only manually from web interface.

Files you manually copied to your host server (eg. PHP files in case of WHMCS and Blesta) are automatically updated once host detects there is newer version of BlissRADIUS Embedded running.

In some cases (WHMCS and Blesta) there are configuration files that are not automatically updated so you might have to manually add options to activate new features. See installation instructions.

Manual upgrade from web interface

Login to BlissRADIUS Embedded web user interface and go to Overview page. If there is upgrade available, it will be shown along Install button you can use.

Manual upgrade from console/shell

Commands listed are for Windows. For Linux just remove .exe from commands.

  1. Download new program version from website.

  2. Shut down BlissRADIUS Embedded process by running blissembed.exe stop from console.

  3. Rename blissembed.exe to blissembed.exe.old just in case.

  4. Copy new file over blissembed.exe

  5. Start BlissRADIUS Embedded server in debug mode with command blissembed.exe

  6. If all is OK, exit with Ctrl+C then run it in background with blissembed.exe start

  7. If there are errors when starting in debug mode, replace files and contact BlissRADIUS Embedded support.
